Our Goals
To fulfill our mission, the Creative Arts Department focuses on three foundational pillars:
Pillar 1: EDUCATING with Artistic Impact
We aim to build the creative foundation required for effective communication and peer education.
Skill Enrichment: Facilitate structured activities in drama, music, dance, and visual arts, utilizing the Ebony Sonshine Outreach Education Program to teach students how to reach others on critical social and health issues.
Content Creation: Enable students to write scripts and poetry and manage and produce videos, photo essays, and graphic designs, preserving performances through recording equipment to share their message with a wider audience.
Instructional Excellence: Offer cultural arts workshops—including puppetry, keyboard, and hand bell training—focused on developing the “art within” each child for public outreach.
Pillar 2: SUPPORTING with Community Presence
We aim to provide a safe, collaborative environment where art meets community service.
The Gallery Design Program: Establish a dedicated space for the showcase of student artwork, integrated with a program where youth create professional bulletins, invitations, and flyers for local organizations.
Collaborative Development: Partner with schools, hospitals, churches, and other community partners to provide a platform for outreach performances, ensuring our youth have a supportive stage for their creative voice.
Mentorship & Support: Provide step-by-step instruction through writing, casting, and performance sessions, creating a structured environment that encourages youth to address peer issues and sustain positive social change.
Pillar 3: INSPIRING with Performing Expression
We aim to ignite the imagination and provide a platform for youth to be national and international messengers.
Signature Outreach: Deploy specialized puppetry and black-light theater programs to convey positive social messages in diverse venues, from local hospitals to international stages.
Mobile Outreach: Design and implement a mobile stage and Children’s TV production initiatives to bring faith-based theater, recitals, and cultural festivals directly to the community.
Performance Excellence: Facilitate national and international travel opportunities, empowering youth to take their message to the nation while developing their “art within” for global impact.
