On Friday February 3, 2010 Mrs. Naomi G.H. Washington went home to be with the Lord. -- Within the realm of her professional career, she devoted much of her time to the field of drama and speech. Because of her leadership, the Carver High School Drama Department excelled in many district and state festivals. The school and students received numerous honors and prestigious awards. She was an active member of the North Carolina Drama Association on the district and state levels. She was the first black person to attend the Vagabond School of Drama, which was the state drama school in Flatrock, NC. Her entire drama career made history wherever she went. With a background of over 50 years experience in the performing arts, Mom Washington inspired and supported her children’s ministry, Ebony Sonshine Inc. (ESI)
The goal of ESI is to bring the message of hope to our children and youth. The ministry preaches a “sight and sound” sermon through the medium of the performing arts and the use of puppets. The Naomi GH Washington ESI Scholarship program will help us to continue to reach and bless our children and youth with various activities and monetary gifts for high school seniors moving on to the next level of their life.
The family of Naomi Washington along with the staff and Board of Ebony Sonshine would like for you to honor her memory with a monetary donation toward the Program. This will ensure her legacy will continue to assist in some deserving youth for years to come. (Your Donation is Tax-Exempt)
Your Support is Appreciated!
